Fair Farms welcomes Bureau Veritas as an Approved Auditing Body

Fair Farms, Australia’s leading social compliance certification program for the fresh produce industry, is pleased to announce the appointment of Bureau Veritas Australia as an Approved Auditing Body under the Fair Farms Program.

This collaboration further strengthens the program’s national audit capacity and reinforces Fair Farms’ commitment to delivering credible, independent, and robust third-party assurance to growers, labour hire providers, wholesalers and supply chain participants across Australia.

With more than 190 years of global experience in testing, inspection and certification, Bureau Veritas brings deep expertise in social compliance, responsible sourcing and agricultural assurance to the Fair Farms community.

In Australia, Bureau Veritas operates with APSCA-qualified auditors and sustainability specialists who work directly with agricultural businesses and supply chain operators. Their practical understanding of seasonal workforce challenges, operational realities and compliance requirements ensures that audits are conducted with professionalism, consistency and sector insight.

Amanda Higgins, Fair Farms National Program Manager, welcomed the partnership:

“The addition of Bureau Veritas strengthens Fair Farms’ national audit capacity and provides our members with increased choice and accessibility.

As retailer and regulatory expectations continue to evolve, it is critical that our approved auditing bodies demonstrate strong governance, technical expertise and alignment with the realities of Australian horticulture. Bureau Veritas brings that capability.”

Coraline Bucquet, Sustainability Business Development Lead at Bureau Veritas Australia, said:

“We are proud to join the Fair Farms Program as an Approved Auditing Body. Our goal is to support growers and supply chain businesses to achieve and maintain certification with confidence and clarity.”

“We recognise that audits should be structured, practical and supportive. Our team is committed to working collaboratively with Fair Farms members to strengthen fair, safe and responsible employment practices across the sector.”

Fair Farms audits are delivered in accordance with the Fair Farms Standard, Rules and Audit Guide, ensuring consistent and transparent assessment of workplace relations, labour hire compliance, worker welfare, and responsible employment practices.

The appointment of Bureau Veritas reflects Fair Farms’ ongoing commitment to strengthening Australia’s domestic social compliance framework and building national capability within the fresh produce supply chain.
