Our Fair Farms

Our farmers, our purpose, our team

Our Purpose

At Fair Farms, we are dedicated to fostering fair and responsible employment practices across the Australian horticulture industry. Our mission is to support growers and related parties within the fresh produce supply chain, to navigate complex employment laws and regulations, ensuring that all workers are treated with fairness and respect.

We provide practical support, targeted training, and a clear pathway to independent, third-party audit and certification. Through our certification process, we recognise and promote ethical and responsible employers, helping them demonstrate their commitment to fair work practices and facilitate access to the Australian fresh produce supply chain.

By understanding the role each participant plays in the supply chain, we strive to create a culture of compliance that not only meets legal obligations but is relevant to industry.

Our Team

Fair Farms Governance

We embed accountability and transparency into every level of the Fair Farms program.

To ensure the program remains relevant, practical, and trusted across the Australian horticulture supply chain, Fair Farms is governed by the Queensland Fruit & Vegetable Growers (QFVG) Board of Directors. The program is further supported by two key advisory bodies: an independent Technical Committee and the External Stakeholder Reference Group (ESRG). These groups provide expert guidance, stakeholder feedback, and ongoing evaluation—driving continuous improvement and ensuring Fair Farms meets the needs of the entire industry.

  • Independent from other functions of Fair Farms, the Technical Committee provides technical expertise, guidance, advice, and recommendations to the Fair Farms Board related to the Fair Farms Program Framework and Standards.

  • The ESRG includes growers, relevant government departments, supply chain partners, retailers, audit bodies, peak industry bodies, worker representatives, and others who are involved in improving workplace practices in Australian Horticulture.  The ESRG provides advice and makes recommendations to the Fair Farms Technical Committee on any proposed changes to Fair Farms Program.

  • Fair Farms is a division of Queensland Fruit & Vegetable Growers Ltd  (ABN: 51 090 816 827) and as such is directed by the QFVG Board of Directors.
