Fair Farms Program Review

Public Comment Period Now Open

The Fair Farms Program invites public feedback on proposed updates to the Audit Guide.

As part of our commitment to upholding high standards, we conduct an annual review of the Fair Farms Standards, Rules, and Audit Guide to ensure compliance with evolving regulations, stakeholder input, and improvements in industry practices.

Following this year’s review, no changes are recommended to the Fair Farms Standards and Rules.  There has been a submission to amend the Audit Guide.

The review process follows a structured decision-making framework, involving assessments by the Fair Farms Technical Committee, the External Stakeholders Reference Group (ESRG), and public consultation, with final approval by the Queensland Fruit & Vegetable Growers (QFVG) Board.

The recommendations from the Fair Farms Technical Committee to amend the Audit Guide can be accessed online here. Please note that ESRG members present at the meeting did not fully endorse these recommendations.

The public comment period will run from Tuesday, 1 October 2024, to Thursday, 31 October 2024.

All feedback will be submitted to the QFVG Board for consideration, with any approved updates included in the next published version of the standard.

We encourage growers, farm workers, consumers, industry representatives, and other stakeholders to review the proposed changes and share their input.

Please do not hesitate to contact Fair Farms if you need any further information.
